A departure parade was held today at the Canadian War Museum to mark the upcoming participation of a contingent of more than 200 Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members in the 98th annual International Four Days MarchesNijmegen. The Marches will be held from July 15 to 18, 2014.
Attending were His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada, who was Reviewing Officer for the Parade; His Excellency Cees Kole, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Canada; General Tom Lawson, Chief of the Defence Staff; Major-General David Millar, Chief of Military Personnel; Lieutenant-Colonel Christa Oppers-Beumer, Defence Attaché of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Canada; Tom Eagles, Dominion President of the Royal Canadian Legion; and Tony Glen, Director of Collections at the Canadian War Museum. Approximately 40 to 50 members of the CAF Nijmegen contingent were also in attendance.
