City will celebrate its centennial anniversary in 2015

The Government of Canada has provided multi-year funding of $93,800 for the City of Courtenay’s centennial celebrations. The City will receive $37,000 in 2014–2015 and $56,800 in 2015–2016 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.
The Honourable John Duncan, Minister of State and Member of Parliament (Vancouver Island North), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages. Minister of State Duncan was joined by the Honourable Kevin Sorenson, Minister of State (Finance).
