The Ceremonial Guard of the Canadian Armed Forces will perform the final Changing of the Guard ceremony at Parliament Hill on Saturday August 23, at 10 a.m. This will be one of the Guard’s largest parades of the 2014 season, with the participation of approximately 350 soldiers and musicians.
At 10:40 a.m. the parade will leave Parliament Hill for the last time this year, marking an end to another successful public duties season. The reviewing officer for this special parade will be Brigadier-General Lowell Thomas, Commander 4th Canadian Division/ Joint Task Force (Central).
When: Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10 a.m.
Where: East and West Lawn, Parliament Hill
The Ceremonial Guard is a unit in the Canadian Armed Forces which performs a variety of public duties and concerts in Ottawa between late June and the end of August. The Ceremonial Guard also performs sentry duties at Rideau Hall and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the National War Memorial.

Interested media wishing to attend this event are asked to arrive at the East Lawn of Parliament Hill no later than 9:45 a.m.
The final day to see the sentries at Rideau Hall will be August 22, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The sentry task at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (located at the National War Memorial) will continue from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until 10 November, 2014.
