Projects possible thanks to federal Gas Tax Fund
August 14, 2014 – Drummond, New Brunswick – Infrastructure Canada
Chemin des Huîtres, Chateau Heights, Drummond, Dundee and Saint-Léonard will soon benefit from improvements to local water and wastewater infrastructure thanks to federal investments made through the federal Gas Tax Fund.
To ensure year-round access to clean, safe drinking water in Chateau Heights, a number of households experiencing water shortage will be connected to Fredericton's system. Further, a total of 21 permanent and seasonal residences currently drawing water from private wells in Chemin des Huîtres will now be supplied by the Haut-Shippagan Road water main.
In addition, new and extended wastewater collection services will supplement the existing wastewater treatment systems in Chateau Heights, Drummond, Dundee and Saint-Léonard. This will help continue to ensure effective wastewater disposal while preserving the health and safety of residents and the environment for years to come.
