Minister Poilievre participates in events at St. James Cathedral and Community Centre 55

The Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of State (Democratic Reform), on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, today announced Government of Canada support for two projects that will commemorate the centennial of the beginning of the First World War and the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War.
St. James Cathedral will receive support for a commemorative exhibit, Tribute to the Role of Military Chaplains. The exhibit will be on display from November 5-16, 2014. Community Centre 55 will receive support for a special Remembrance Day event that will mark the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War and the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War.
These initiatives are taking place during Canada’s World Wars Commemoration period, which coincides with the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the First World War and the 75th anniversary of the beginning of the Second World War. The Government of Canada is committed to honouring all Canadian men and women who bravely served our country during these wars.
