Facility improvements will enhance the Rogersville Bluegrass Festival

Rogersville Music Inc., an event production company based in Rogersville will improve their event facilities thanks to investments by the Government of Canada and the Province of New Brunswick.
Tilly O’Neill Gordon, Member of Parliament for Miramichi, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Regional Minister for New Brunswick and Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), and the Honourable Robert Trevors, Minister of Human Resources, on behalf of Economic Development Minister Bruce Fitch, made the announcement today.
Rogersville Music’s project involves building a roofed shelter that would be used during inclement weather for concert goers attending the annual Rogersville Bluegrass Festival. The project also involves adding a washroom facility with showers, which includes plumbing and electrical upgrades.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is investing $112,000 and the Province of New Brunswick is investing $60,000 in the initiative. Rogersville Music Inc. is contributing $52,000 toward this project.

- The Rogersville Bluegrass Festival was started over 20 years ago by Eddie Poirier. After the 2010 edition, Norman, Gilles, and Denis Roy (Roy Brothers Construction Inc. and Rogersville Music Inc.) acquired the festival and moved it to a former farmland in East Rogersville.
- For the 2013 festival, Rogersville Music Inc. invested in a permanent 1,000 sq. ft. covered stage, engineered drainage, full fencing, lighting, ticket booths, and parking for up to 800 RVs.
- The Rogersville Bluegrass Festival brings in over 3,000 people to Rogersville every year. The 2014 Festival runs from Friday, August 22 until Sunday, August 24.
