Gerald Keddy, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, on behalf of the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (ACOA), announced an investment today for Holland College’s Bioscience Technology Program.
The investment by the Government of Canada will enable the college to upgrade lab facilities and purchase equipment in order to meet new Canadian Biosafety Standards and Guidelines. As a result, Holland College’s Bioscience Technology Program will have the advanced technologies needed by students to conduct research and learn the skills necessary to secure employment post-graduation.

• The Government of Canada is supporting this project with a $210,456 investment through ACOA’s Business Development Program.
• Holland College is the Community College of Prince Edward Island providing a broad range of strategic and technical-based training through six program-focused training centres.
• Prince Edward Island’s Bioscience sector has shown strong growth in recent years, boasting over 1,100 employees in 2013 and over $124 million in revenue in 2012.
