August 21, 2014 – Gatineau, Quebec – Transport Canada
Royal Galipeau, Member of Parliament for Ottawa–Orléans, today announced an investment of $407,224 for the replacement of runway apron lighting, the partial replacement of wildlife control fencing, and the replacement of a wheeled loader with bucket and snow scraper at the Gatineau-Ottawa Executive Airport.
The wildlife control fencing is an important tool in controlling animals such as deer and bears on airport runways and surrounding land; and the new runway lighting and wheeled loader will ensure continued safe visibility and airport operations for passengers, employees, and flight crews.
Funding comes from Transport Canada’s Airports Capital Assistance Program (ACAP).
