Project possible thanks to federal Gas Tax Fund
August 7, 2014 – Penetanguishene, Ontario – Infrastructure Canada
Thanks to the federal Gas Tax Fund, residents in Penetanguishene are now benefitting from both updated water and wastewater systems, as well as a smoother, safer commute on Maria Street.
Underneath Maria Street, a new water main, and separated storm and sanitary sewers provide increased water service to homes in the area, while better managing wastewater and surface water runoff. They also alleviate the need for ongoing repairs and maintenance.
Above ground, new road surfacing and curbs provide an improved traffic flow and better safety, and reduced damage to vehicles and greenhouse gas emissions.
