The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $35,000 in funding for the 17th FestiBlues International de Montréal, which is taking place from August 7 to 10, 2014. This funding, provided through the Programming component of the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, will be used to give a showcase to established and emerging blues artists and to help at-risk youth integrate into the job market.
“I am delighted that our Government is supporting FestiBlues International de Montréal, an event that revitalizes culture in the Ahuntsic district, in addition to giving dozens of young people a chance to help organize the festival and discover new talents.”
