Technology and infrastructure upgrades making Centre more competitive
September 8, 2014 – Cornwallis, NS – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency
Upgrades to the Cornwallis Park Development Association’s Annapolis Basin Conference Centre (ABCC), are positioning the training facility to broaden its client base. The introduction of enhanced Wi-Fi capability will be a significant asset for ABCC as it continues to market itself as a destination for domestic and international training needs. The installation of keyless entry and the addition of new furniture for classrooms and lounge areas at Atlantis Hall are contributing to the Centre’s ability to offer a more competitive package.
ABCC was incorporated as a non-profit in 1994. Located in the historic Cornwallis Park, ABCC offers a number of venues to host various events such as training, conferences, reunions, weddings and theatrical productions.
The upgrades are attracting new clients such as Medavie HealthEd to ABCC. The paramedic training program is expecting to begin delivering Primary Care Paramedic training in 2015.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Innovative Communities Fund, is providing a contribution of $69,260 to support upgrades to Atlantis Hall, a primary building for classrooms and offices, as announced today by the Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency), and Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament for West Nova. The Government of Nova Scotia is investing $40,000 through the Department of Economic and Rural Development and Tourism.
