Projects possible thanks to federal Gas Tax Fund
September 9, 2014 – Annapolis County, Nova Scotia – Infrastructure Canada
Families, residents and visitors can begin to enjoy new and improved recreational pathways in Annapolis County. Thanks to investments from the federal and provincial governments, users can enjoy an expanded trail system and direct access to Bay of Fundy shorelines, providing increased access to the Bay of Fundy's breathtaking views.
A 420-meter expansion on Charlie's Trail provides hikers with exceptional scenic views along the coastal waterfront, and brings the total length of the Delaps Cove Wilderness Trails to 887 metres. The new 425-foot Young's Cove Coastal Adjunct connects the trail system to Old Shore Road, providing direct access to the Bay of Fundy shore, where users can enjoy an upgraded viewing point complete with park benches.
These projects will help ensure that Annapolis County can offer residents and visitors prime access to its unique landscape features now and for years to come.
"Our Government is proud to have invested in projects that increase recreational opportunities for Canadians, showcase our country's natural beauty and inspire active lifestyles for families, residents and visitors alike. Federal investments in our communities, like the one we are celebrating today, demonstrate our Government's continued commitment to creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity, here in Nova Scotia and across the country."
