On September 8, 2014, Levi Sabattis, an inmate from the minimum security unit at Dorchester Penitentiary died at the institution.
At the time of his death, Mr. Sabattis, 61 years old, had been serving a sentence of seven years and seven days for sex-related offences since October 12, 2012.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
