For Immediate Release
September 22, 2014 – Ottawa, Ont. – Public Works and Government Services Canada
The Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, and the Honourable Rob Nicholson, Minister of National Defence, today offered their sincere congratulations to Christyn Cianfarani on her appointment as the new president of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI).
Ms. Cianfarani, through her work as Expert Advisor to Special Advisor Tom Jenkins in the development of the report entitled Canada First: Leveraging Defence Procurement Through Key Industrial Capabilities, has been instrumental in the development of our Government’s Defence Procurement Strategy. This report, along with substantive industry engagement and recommendations from other independent advisors, provided important input and helped inform the Canadian government’s approach to developing the Defence Procurement Strategy and improving defence procurement outcomes.
Earlier this year, Ms. Cianfarani also accepted a position on the Interim Board of Directors of the Government’s new Defence Analytics Institute, working to put the institute on permanent footing by 2015.
