Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement after Paul Davis was confirmed as the Premier-Designate of Newfoundland and Labrador:
“On behalf of our Government, I congratulate Premier-Designate Paul Davis on his selection as Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.
“I look forward to working with Mr. Davis to advance the interests of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians and all Canadians, with a view to creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity across the province and country.
“I would also like to thank outgoing Premier Tom Marshall for his leadership as Premier and wish him all the best in the future.”
