Minister Leitch congratulates parties on reaching an agreement for grain workers and maintenance employees

Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Lakehead Terminal Elevators Association and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union (United Steelworkers) Local 1976 Unit Lodge 650 on reaching a collective agreement for some 200 grain workers and maintenance employees.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program’s Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the Canada Labour Code.
