A Canada-Quebec investment of nearly $22 million for an essential community service

Representatives of the governments of Canada and Quebec used the "Open House" at the City of Lévis Desjardins drinking water treatment plant as an opportunity to recall the investment of almost $22 million provided under the Major Infrastructure Component of the Building Canada Fund–Quebec to improve public health and safety.
The project included the expansion and complete reconstruction of the building housing the drinking water treatment plant and exterior work including upgrading of the water supply and sewer pipes. The Desjardins plant has been modernized with the installation of two ballasted flocculation-lamellar clarifiers, an ultraviolet disinfection system and a hydrated lime dosing system, which will be used to treat drinking water.
