Sonja Chong appointed part-time member of the Board of Directors

The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced the appointment of Sonja Chong as a part-time member of the Board of Directors of CBC/Radio-Canada for a term of five years, effective October 9, 2014.

Quick Facts

Ms. Chong has been involved in income tax consulting since 1985 and has been a partner with Harris & Chong LLP, Chartered Accountants, in North York since 1991. Her practice focuses on tax planning, estate and succession planning, and real estate investments.
She is currently chair of the Canadian Foundation for Chinese Heritage Preservation and is a former president of the Hong Kong-Canada Business Association. She has sat on the Board of Governors of the Canadian Tax Foundation. She has also received a Volunteer Services Award from the Government of Ontario.
Ms. Chong has presented at more than 150 income tax seminars and contributed various tax articles in specialized magazines. She has participated in a series of television shows and has been invited as a media commentator on tax-related issues.
