Minister Leitch congratulates parties on reaching a new agreement for employees at Cameco

Today, the Honourable Dr. K. Kellie Leitch, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women, congratulated Cameco Corporation and the United Steelworkers Local 8914 on reaching a new collective agreement covering 536 employees at the McArthur River uranium mine and the Key Lake uranium mill in the District of Key Lake, Saskatchewan. Their previous collective agreement expired on December 31, 2013.
The agreement was reached with assistance from the Labour Program’s Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, which provides dispute resolution and dispute prevention assistance to trade unions and employers under the Canada Labour Code.
