Prime Minister Stephen Harper today announced the following changes in the senior ranks of the Public Service:
General (Retired) Walter Natynczyk, currently President of the Canadian Space Agency, becomes Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs, effective November 3, 2014.
Timothy Sargent, currently Associate Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Finance, effective November 3, 2014.
Leslie MacLean, currently Assistant Secretary, Social and Cultural Sector, Treasury Board Secretariat, becomes Associate Deputy Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, effective November 24, 2014.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to congratulate Mary Chaput, Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs, who retired from the Public Service, and to thank her for her many achievements and service to Canadians during her 34-year career.
