Prime Minister Stephen Harper today welcomed the news that François Hollande, President of the French Republic, will take part in a State Visit to Canada from November 2 to 4, 2014.
President Hollande’s visit will provide an opportunity for the leaders to reaffirm the deep and enduring relationship between the two countries and discuss ways to further broaden its scope. This includes exploring new commercial opportunities that will be made possible by the Canada-EU Trade Agreement. The leaders will also discuss international security issues, including the ongoing crisis in Ukraine and the threat posed by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
