On the margins of the 15th Francophonie Summit in Dakar, Senegal, the Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, announced the establishment of the following initiatives:
This call for proposals will give preference to projects that foster sustainable economic growth by building the organizational capacities of training institutions in developing member countries of the International Organisation of La Francophonie. The call for proposals will be open to eligible Canadian organizations.
The proposals must have two components. The goal of the first component is to build the capacities of teaching institutions and strengthen their ties with the private sector. The second component will seek to help students acquire the skills the labour market is looking for and make it easier for them to enter the job market or become entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the proposals must foster the creation of sustainable collaboration networks within La Francophonie.
This French-language leadership program will be implemented by a university consortium headed by HEC Montréal, and will be aligned with La Francophonie’s overall priorities of ensuring sustainable economic growth and development, especially for women and youth.
The goal of the program is to help develop entrepreneurship, particularly collective and women’s entrepreneurship, by offering management training in targeted countries.
