Celebrating Local Arts and Winter Fun in Brock Township

Government of Canada supports the Cannington Dog Sled Races and Winter Festival

November 4, 2014 – Cannington, Ontario – Department of Canadian Heritage

The Government of Canada is providing $14,500 through the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program to support the 11^th edition of the Cannington Dog Sled Races and Winter Festival. The Festival, which includes heritage displays and local musical and dance performances, will take place in Cannington on January 24 and 25, 2015.

Barry Devolin, Member of Parliament (Haliburton–Kawartha Lakes–Brock), made the announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.

The Festival celebrates winter by featuring outdoor activities such as ice sculpting and dog sled races. It also showcases local performers, including aboriginal fiddlers and dancers.
The events attract visitors and participants from across Ontario, Canada and the United States.
