Ottawa - The Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS), General Lawson, visited with Canadian Armed Forces members and community leaders on November 25, 2014 in Toronto.
During his visit, the CDS addressed members of Garrison Toronto at a town hall, where he discussed the priority he places on operational excellence in the Canadian Armed Forces, referring to ongoing operations in Iraq, Europe, and other locations around the world, and here at home. The CDS also reiterated the Canadian Armed Forces’ commitment to ensuring members and their families are able to access the support when in need, and updated members on recent mental health initiatives. Additionally, the CDS presented commendations to a number of personnel.
While in Toronto, the CDS also attended the Canadian Institute for Military and Veteran Health Research's annual forum, where he spoke to the great partnership between the military and civilian medical communities.
