Minister Lynne Yelich announces support for Veterans Appreciation and Military Service Pin Ceremony in Saskatoon

November 6, 2014 – Saskatoon – Veterans Affairs Canada

The Honourable Lynne Yelich, Minister of State (Foreign Affairs and Consular) and Member of Parliament for Blackstrap, today announced Government of Canada support for the Veterans Appreciation and Military Service Pin Ceremony to honour the service and sacrifices of Veterans. Minister Yelich made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs.

Presented by the Saskatoon Poppy Campaign, Veterans from Royal Canadian Legion Branches 78 and 362 will receive a Military Service Pin by Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan.

The Saskatoon Poppy Campaign is receiving $1,175, through Veterans Affairs Canada’s Community Engagement Partnership Fund, for a Veterans Appreciation and Military Service Pin Ceremony.
Since 2006, the Government of Canada has approved more than $13 million through the Community Engagement Partnership Fund for projects that recognize Veterans and those who died in service.
