Transitioning Atlantic Canadian military personnel explore entrepreneurship at one-day workshops
November 4, 2014 – Moncton, NB – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA)
The Honourable Rob Moore, Minister of State (ACOA), today announced support for The Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur program, a national program that provides Canadian Forces personnel transitioning to civilian life the education, financing and mentoring needed to launch and sustain businesses.
In Atlantic Canada, The Prince’s Operation Entrepreneur program will consist of 10 one-day “Introduction to Entrepreneurship” workshops that will take place across the region in the coming months. Workshop topics include transferring military skills to the civilian world, business planning, management, marketing, social media and accounting.
The program’s goal is to raise awareness of entrepreneurship as a second career option for servicemen and women of the Canadian Armed Forces by providing them with the specific knowledge, access to networks, and business advice they need to become successful entrepreneurs.
