Concert-goers and festival attendees around the world likely don’t give a second thought to music festival and tour planning, but if they did, they would discover that the software applications used by their favourite artists and festivals to plan, organize and manage events and musical careers were developed on Cape Breton Island.
For the past six years, Marcato Digital Solutions has been providing a web-based management service for the global music industry, and with support from the Government of Canada, the local company is undertaking upgrades that will support its quest for global leadership in the festival and artist management software industry.
The Government of Canada, through ACOA’s Business Development Program, is making a $300,000 repayable contribution to Marcato to undertake a recoding exercise that will enable it to develop and incorporate new features into its signature software applications in response to changing market requirements.
