France is the newest location for this program to support Canadian companies abroad, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to succeed and grow
November 3, 2014 - Ottawa, Ontario - Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, today launched a Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) program in Paris, France, to help Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises explore opportunities to grow and prosper in that market. Minister Fast made the announcement during a meeting with his counterpart, Matthias Fekl, France’s Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, who is in Ottawa as part of the President of France’s visit to Canada.
CTAs provide innovative Canadian companies with access to unique resources, helping participants refine their business model, collect competitive intelligence, pursue key clients, access financing and engage strategic partners to help them grow internationally. CTAs are one of the innovative tools available to Canadian companies under Canada’s Global Markets Action Plan (GMAP).
Four Canadian companies have been selected following a competitive application process as the inaugural class for the new three-month program in France.
The selected participants are:
- MedClinik Inc., Montréal, Quebec
- KINESIQ Inc., Bromont, Quebec
- Strata Health Solutions Inc., Calgary, Alberta
- NeoVentures Biotechnology Inc., London, Ontario
The participants will attend two innovative accelerators, Paris Region Lab and the Brain and Spine Institute.
