Ontario manufacturing sector workers to benefit from export win
November 10, 2014 - Ottawa, Ontario - Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development Canada
The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, today congratulated 3M Canada on the company's $3-million order to supply 3M's M61 respiratory mask canisters to the United States Department of Defense.
3M Canada will manufacture the canisters at its Canadian facilities. The order was awarded under an indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity contract, issued in December 2011, with a potential value of more than $100 million over seven years.
The sale was facilitated by the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), the Government of Canada's international government-to-government contracting organization. The contract was awarded under the Defence Production Sharing Agreement between Canada and the U.S.
