Minister of Veterans Affairs to salute Veterans and Canadian Armed Forces personnel at BC Lions Half-Time Show

The Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs, will march with more than 1,000 Veterans, Canadian Armed Forces personnel, cadets, and massed pipe and drum bands during tomorrow night’s Salute to Veterans and Military Valour half-time show.

Approximately 35,000 spectators are expected to watch the event, which is being organized by the Royal Canadian Legion, the BC Lions Football Club and the Canadian Football League.

The “Salute to Veterans and Military Valour” half-time show will take place during the BC Lions Football game on Friday, November 7, 2014.
The Royal Canadian Legion British Columbia/Yukon Command is receiving Government of Canada support in the amount of $5,000 to help organize this event. The funding is being provided through Veterans Affairs Canada’s Community Engagement Partnership Fund.
Since 2006, the Government of Canada has provided more than $13 million, through Veterans Affairs Canada’s Community Engagement Partnership Fund (CEPF), to help organizations commemorate Veterans and those who have died in service.
