Minister Ambrose announces support for commemorative activities

The Honourable Rona Ambrose, Minister of Health, Minister Responsible for Northern Alberta and Member of Parliament for Edmonton–Spruce Grove, today announced Government of Canada funding to the Maskekowsak Cultural Society to support their Remembrance Day activities. Minister Ambrose made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs.
The Enoch Cree First Nation’s Maskekowsak Cultural Society will organize and host activities on November 11 which will include a traditional pipe ceremony, prayers, speeches, an honour guard, wreath layings, sacred historical songs, and a special Memorial Round Dance. The Dance will bring people of all ages together to remember the horrors of war and commemorate the bravery and sacrifices of Veterans and current members of the Canadian Armed Forces.
