November 13, 2014 - The Honourable Christian Paradis, Minister of International Development and La Francophonie, will launch a webinar discussion on maternal, newborn and child health at the Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine (CHU Sainte-Justine) in Montréal. The Minister’s address will be broadcast live and connected to satellite events taking place at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and the BC Women’s Hospital & Health Centre and BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
During his remarks, Minister Paradis will talk about the Partnerships for Strengthening Maternal, Newborn and Child Health call for proposals launched on November 5, 2014. This initiative will allow eligible Canadian organizations to contribute to Canada’s top international development priority of saving the lives of the world’s most vulnerable mothers and their children. The webinar will be broadcast live.
MP Lois Brown, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of International Development, and MP Cathy McLeod, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Labour and for Western Economic Diversification, will also deliver remarks at the Toronto and Vancouver events respectively.
Minister Paradis will hold a media availability in Montreal prior to his remarks.
