Prime Minister Stephen Harper today issued the following statement condemning a terrorist attack in Potiskum, Nigeria:
“I was deeply saddened to learn that a suicide bomber attacked the Government Technical Science College earlier today in northwestern Nigeria, killing at least 48 and injuring dozens more.
“Canada strongly condemns this murderous attack. Such heinous and cowardly acts only strengthen the will of the international community to fight terrorism in all its forms and hunt down its perpetrators. It also reminds us that no country is immune to such acts of depravity.
“On behalf of all Canadians, Laureen and I offer our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those affected, and our prayers for a speedy recovery to those injured.”
