  On December 11, 2014, Ronald Penny, an inmate from the Regional Treatment Centre was found unresponsive in his cell at the regional hospital in Kingston.
  Staff members immediately began performing CPR and emergency services were called. The offender was taken to the Kingston General Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2 p.m.
  At the time of his death, Mr. Penny, 61 years old, had been serving a life sentence for Second Degree Murder since November 25, 2004.
  The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
  As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
