December 5, 2014 – Toronto – Department of Canadian Heritage
The Government of Canada has issued a challenge to all Canadian post-secondary students—be part of “History in the Making” and design a logo for the 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017. The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, made the announcement today at the Ontario Science Centre.
The logo will be a key element of the multi-year effort to bring Canadians together for our country’s ongoing celebration of 150 years of Confederation.
“I invite all Canadian post-secondary students, especially our up-and-coming graphic designers, to participate in the Canada 150 Logo Design Contest. What does Canada mean to you? Be part of history in the making! Create an image that will be used to promote the 150th anniversary of Confederation from coast to coast to coast. As we prepare to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017, creating a national, recognizable brand that Canadians can identify will encourage participation in this significant anniversary.”
