December 17, 2014 – Kelvington, Saskatchewan – Western Economic Diversification Canada
The Town of Kelvington will benefit from improved wastewater infrastructure thanks to joint federal and provincial funding announced today by Garry Breitkreuz, Member of Parliament for Yorkton — Melville, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification, and the Honourable Jim Reiter, Saskatchewan’s Minister of Government Relations.
The investment will allow Kelvington to extend their Willow Street sewer lines, as well as install the manholes and hydrants necessary for residential development. The project will increase the number of households and industries connected to sanitary sewer systems, improve the reliability of the treatment system, and help the town attract more residents to the community.
The Governments of Canada and Saskatchewan are each investing $40,874 in the project through the Communities Component of the Building Canada Fund (BCF-CC), while Kelvington will contribute the balance of the $122,622 project.
