The Honourable Greg Rickford, Canada's Minister of Natural Resources and Minister for the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario (FedNor), announced today a new FedNor initiative designed to help Northern Ontario communities and First Nations attract, retain and support business investment, leading to economic growth, job creation and long-term prosperity.
The goal of the Community Investment Initiative for Northern Ontario (CIINO) is to help eligible municipalities and First Nations hire staff on a term basis to facilitate the identification of opportunities and the management of local economic development efforts and collaboration with regional partners to strengthen the economy.
