On January 6, 2015, Jeffrey Raymond Ysebert, an inmate at Warkworth Institution was found in need of medical attention in his cell.
Emergency services were called. The offender was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where he was pronounced dead on January 11, 2015 at 7:05 a.m.
At the time of his death, Mr. Ysebert, 34 years old, had been serving a sentence of four years, two months and 14 days for Criminal Harassment, Armed Robbery, Operate Motor Vehicle While Disqualified, Theft, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and Motor Vehicle Theft since August 19, 2013.
The inmate’s next of kin have been notified of his death.
As in all cases involving the death of an inmate, the police and the coroner have been notified, and Correctional Service Canada will review the circumstances of the incident.
