HALIFAX – The media are invited to attend the homecoming ceremony of Her Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Toronto on January 18, 2015. The Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, will be in attendance.
The ship and crew are returning from their deployment on Operation REASSURANCE in support of security and international cooperation efforts in the central and eastern European region. HMCS Toronto left the port of Halifax in July 2014 to join Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 in the Mediterranean Sea.
WHEN: January 18, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. AST
WHERE: Jetty NB, HMC Dockyard, Canadian Forces Base Halifax, NS
Media are asked to arrive at Rainbow Gate by 9:30 a.m. with photo ID. Parking will be available in a designated area near the jetty.
