February 26, 2015 – Banff, Alberta – Department of Canadian Heritage
The Banff Centre is receiving $3,900,000 in funding through the Canada Arts Training Fund (CATF). This contribution will enable The Banff Centre to provide arts training of the highest calibre to our future cultural leaders.
Blake Richards, Member of Parliament (Wild Rose), made this announcement today on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages.
“Our Government recognizes that arts and cultural organizations strengthen our communities, enrich the quality of life of Canadians and contribute to our economy. The Banff Centre, a world-renowned facility that has been operating for more than 80 years, is a great example of this positive influence.”
—The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“Arts training institutions are essential to the prosperity of our arts and cultural scene. We are proud to contribute to the success of The Banff Centre and to the future careers of our talented artists.”
—Blake Richards, Member of Parliament (Wild Rose)
“Without the critical support of the Canada Arts Training Fund, The Banff Centre would not be able to offer our world-class training programs for artists and practitioners across disciplines. We take pride in seeing these artists attain successful careers in the cultural sector after spending time honing their skills at The Banff Centre.”
—Carolyn Warren, Vice President of Arts Programs at The Banff Centre
