February 9, 2015 – Emerald Park, Saskatchewan – Western Economic Diversification Canada
Western Canadian companies will be able to increase their profile in the European market thanks to a $670,000 investment announced today by Tom Lukiwski, Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons and Member of Parliament for Regina—Lumsden—Lake Centre, on behalf of the Honourable Michelle Rempel, Minister of State for Western Economic Diversification.
This investment will allow the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) to organize pavilions showcasing Western Canada's agricultural capabilities – including world-class equipment manufacturing, services, and technologies – at Agritechnica 2015, taking place in Hanover, Germany in November 2015.
Agritechnica is the world's largest bi-annual trade fair for agricultural machinery and equipment. In 2013, 2900 exhibitors from 47 countries attracted 450,000 visitors from all over the world. Canadian participation in the 2013 exhibition led to approximately $72 million in immediate sales and an additional $50 million in contracts.
