February 27, 2015 - The Honourable Rob Nicholson, P.C., Q.C., M.P. for Niagara Falls, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today issued the following statement:
“Canada is deeply concerned about the continuing political instability and deteriorating security situation in Yemen, which has further destabilized the country and exacerbated the severe humanitarian crisis faced by Yemenis.
“Canada calls for the release of all ministers and individuals under house arrest, including the Prime Minister, and for Yemen to take steps toward an inclusive and legitimate government.
“We support the United Nations Security Council’s call for all parties in Yemen to resolve their differences through dialogue and to reject acts of violence.”
