Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits the Hôtel de Glace with Bonhomme Carnaval, the official mascot of the Québec Winter Carnaval, as part of his two-day winter tour in Quebec.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper today paid a visit to Bonhomme Carnaval, the official mascot of the Québec Winter Carnaval, which is taking place from January 30 to February 15, 2015. He was accompanied by Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Steven Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, and Jacques Gourde, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec. The visit was part of the Prime Minister’s two-day winter tour in the province of Quebec.
The Prime Minister took the opportunity to announce the Government’s support for the Carnaval – a marquee Canadian winter event that promotes Quebec culture and tourism, while showcasing the heritage of Québec, one of Canada’s most beautiful and historical cities.
