CED lends support to Charlevoix company looking to diversify its markets

February 10, 2015 – Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

Acting on behalf of the Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Infrastructure, Communities and Intergovernmental Affairs and Minister of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, Jacques Gourde, Member of Parliament for Lotbinière–Chutes-de-la-Chaudière and Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister, for Official Languages and for the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec, announces that Simard Suspensions Inc. has been granted financial assistance to commercialize a 50-tonne load capacity mining truck in Canada and abroad.

This support has been awarded in the form of a $300,000 repayable financial contribution through CED’s Quebec Economic Development Program.

Quick facts

This investment will enable Simard Suspensions to diversify its product line and client base by commercializing a product of its design. Planned activities include hiring sales and marketing professionals, participating in trade shows, developing promotional material and consulting experts on specific issues.
Simard Suspensions Inc., which develops, manufactures and installs suspension and electro-hydraulic steering systems, is a reference in the field of heavy vehicle conversion and modification.
In addition to ensuring the company’s growth, this project is expected to result in the creation of full-time jobs and to contribute to the diversification and growth of strong, dynamic regional economic activity.
