OTTAWA — Defence Minister Jason Kenney issued the following statement:

“Today, Supplementary Estimates (C) 2014-15 were tabled in the House of Commons, requesting an estimated $139.6 million for military operations, including approximately $122 million for the military operation in Iraq. These are incremental costs for the 2014-15 fiscal year which ends March 31.

“We have always committed to remain as open and transparent about this mission as possible, without compromising operational security.”

Accordingly, a detailed breakdown of these figures is as follows:

Operations	Details	Cost
Operation Impact – Personnel	Includes allowances for an average of 600 deployed personnel, including Hardship Allowance and Risk Allowance. This includes $1,471,074 in in the Government-mandated Employee Benefit Program. This is calculated at 20% of personnel costs.	$8,826,444
Operation Impact – Aircraft and Ammunition costs	Includes fuel, operation and maintenance, spare parts, ammunition and in-service maintenance This includes the CC130J – Hercules, CC150 - Polaris (refueler), CC177 – Globemaster, CP140 - Aurora, and CF188 – Hornet.	$73,534,683
Operation Impact – Vehicles	Incremental cost includes vehicle usage costs for military vehicle shipped to theater	$549,350
Operation Impact – Other personnel-related costs	Includes the costs of meals, incidentals, and ground transport for personnel in transit to and from the theater	$2,208,010
Operation Impact – Monthly costs	Meals and accommodation costs for personnel while in theater	$34,155,224
Operation Impact – Other costs	Includes camp set-up fees, the re-supply of general consumable material, and other miscellaneous amenities and local purchases	$3,321,000
OPERATION IMPACT – Total Incremental costs, October 2014 – March 2015		$122,594,712
Operation Reassurance – General cost	Includes ship operating costs (fuel, food, etc)	$13.3 million
Operation Reassurance – Contingency		$3.7 million
OPERATION REASSURANCE – Incremental costs that are not being covered by the DND budget and are therefore being sought in the Supplementary Estimates		$17 million
