March 16, 2015 - Ottawa, Ontario
The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, currently leads the Canadian delegation at the Seafood Expo North America 2015. She is meeting with buyers, suppliers and exhibitors from across North America and overseas to demonstrate the Government of Canada’s vast efforts to build on existing markets and to introduce new markets for the country’s seafood products.
While touring the exhibit, Minister Shea visited the booth of Prince Edward Island’s Raspberry Point Oysters and was delighted to learn, first hand, how such seafood businesses benefit from favourable conditions in Canada to compete internationally. This year, Raspberry Point Oysters will highlight their Daisy Bay oysters that were introduced at SENA 2014 and that are grown in PEI’s cool, clear waters.
