Prime Minister Stephen Harper held a productive meeting with North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who was visiting Ottawa today.
During the visit, Prime Minister Harper and Secretary General Stoltenberg discussed key issues facing the Alliance and its partners, including NATO’s response to Russian military aggression in Ukraine. They also discussed the threat posed by the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) to Canada and its allies, the horrors that ISIL has inflicted on innocent civilians in Iraq and Syria, and the acts of terrorism it is supporting and inspiring in other parts of the world.
