March 24, 2015 – Hamilton, ON – Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety (CCOHS)
As Canada aligns the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), also known as WHMIS 2015 hazard symbols will be replaced by pictograms. To help people recognize and understand these new - pictograms, CCOHS has released a new poster.
The new poster, WHMIS 2015 Pictograms, serves as a visual, easy to understand tool to help workers identify the hazards identified by the WHMIS 2015 pictograms. The poster displays the standardized pictograms which show the type of hazard present in a hazardous product. These pictograms will appear on supplier labels and safety data sheets (as the symbol or name of the symbol).
