Ottawa, March 5, 2015 – Media are reporting that several Quebec Cabinet Ministers have received envelopes containing suspicious powder substances. Below is a statement on this matter by the Honourable Steven Blaney, P.C., M.P., Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
“Envelopes containing suspicious powder substances have been received by some Quebec Members of Parliament.
“The safety of Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament and their staff is a primary concern at all times.
“We thank the Sûreté du Québec and local law-enforcement for their swift response.”
