Government of Canada supports the Centre provincial de ressources préscolaires

April 30, 2015 – Church Point, Nova Scotia – Department of Canadian Heritage

Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament (West Nova), today announced an investment of $7,500 through the Development of Official-Language Communities Program in the Centre provincial de ressources préscolaires (CPRPS). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages

The CPRPS will use this funding to implement its 2015–16 programming. It will continue its work of setting up family resource centres in five communities without one and improving the range of services and activities offered in the existing five centres. The group plans to provide support to communities that want to set up early childhood centres. The CPRPS also offers advocacy and collaboration activities.

The CPRPS is a centre of excellence, knowledge, training and resources in French for early childhood development and education in Nova Scotia’s 10 Acadian and Francophone communities.
The mission of the CPRPS is to provide early childhood development resources based on the needs of the Acadian and Francophone communities. It supports development and facilitates cooperation among professionals, organizations and all the partners working towards the personal, cultural and linguistic development of young children in Nova Scotia.
The Development of Official-Language Communities Program is designed to foster the vitality of Canada's French- and English-speaking minority communities and enable them to participate fully in all aspects of Canadian life.
