April 30, 2015 – Church Point, Nova Scotia – Department of Canadian Heritage
Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament (West Nova), today announced an investment of $7,500 through the Development of Official-Language Communities Program in the Centre provincial de ressources préscolaires (CPRPS). He made this announcement on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
The CPRPS will use this funding to implement its 2015–16 programming. It will continue its work of setting up family resource centres in five communities without one and improving the range of services and activities offered in the existing five centres. The group plans to provide support to communities that want to set up early childhood centres. The CPRPS also offers advocacy and collaboration activities.
“I am proud that our Government continues to support organizations like the Centre provincial de ressources préscolaires. Through such initiatives, we are helping promote the French and English languages, which are the very backbone of our history and our Canadian identity.”
—The Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages
“The CPRPS’s role in early childhood education is crucial to enhancing the vitality of Nova Scotia’s Acadian and Francophone communities. Our Government is proud to support their activities.”
—Greg Kerr, Member of Parliament (West Nova)
“The CPRPS is very grateful for the financial contribution made for its 2015–16 programming. This funding will allow CPRPS to offer support to the Acadian and Francophone communities looking to develop early childhood centres, as well as family resource centre programs and services. The CPRPS will continue to work in cooperation with its partners and the communities in order to further develop the services related to early childhood.”
